Bit of a poor show that the CAB aren't helpful....not really backing up the ethis of what they are for eh?!

Best of luck to you and hubby x

    Thanks LG

I must admit I was prety disappointed. They had two reasons:

    1) We had started the appeal ourselves :confused:

    2) She kept bleating on about the fact the *they* like you to only be able to walk 50 yards or less for IB :confused:
OH marked 200 yards on the IB50 (which is 7 points) so she was saying that he wouldn't get it anyway :confused:
I could not for the life of me make her understand that he already had 10 points and if the Dr had agreed (rather than making up 800 yards from thin air) then he would be in receipt of IB and not at tribunal stage :confused:

Apologies for the overuse of ;)

I wasnt saying that you would, however cls used to give advice and point you in the direction of help regardless, now they can only do so IF you fall into legal aid category
    sorry if that was confusing:j

What a bizarre thing but thanks for clarifying. CAB did give us a number to call at the LA but practically said they wouldnt want to know either being that we have taken it this far off our own backs.

    Hi all

Does anyone have any experience on written tribunals (and hopefully good outcomes)?

We have appealed to the point of tribunal, CAB dont wanna know and OH (his claim) is not comfortable/happy/upto the oral hearing which we believe would actually be better :(

    Thanks in advance

I am sorry that I have not replied before but have had problems with the site.As has been said you stand a much better chance at an appeal if you attend (50 - 60%) success rate. If you do not attend the success rate is only about 15%. Even if you attend on behalf of your husband there is a good chance of success as you can answer any questions the panel have. If nobody attends but you have supplied a thorough submission with back up from medical proffessionals you can still have a successful appeal as someone else mentioned.

Could I go without him or would he have to be present?

You can go without him, he does not need to be present. I do know that just the fact of someone attending is looked upon favourably.
