Finally - 3G iPhone announced and new O2 Tarrifs

Early doors yet but it's been announced and will be coming to the UK on 11th July. Rumoured to be cheaper ($200 in the US instead of $400 for current model) and it now has 3G, GPS and seems to offer a push email.

Should be very nice when it comes, and my 3 contract is up then too :)

Basically, it'll be £99 for the 8GB on the £30 and £35 tarrifs, tarrif and free on £45 and £75. The 16GB iphone will be £169 on the £30 and £35, £59 on the £45 and free on £75.

All come with free data, wifi etc. This is actually looking like a good deal.

    Ultimately, it's either something you want or don't.

    At the old price, with the old features (particularly lack of 3G), I didn't want one, even when I could have had it for £70 after quidco. It was underspecced and over-priced.

    Final price has yet to be announced but this is looking much more tempting.

    £100 is the final confirmed price for the 8GB model, if you look it states it will be $199 worldwide meaning that $199 is about £100.

    Ashame its on O2 though, im on a vodafone contract, looking to transfer it to someone else so i can my iPhone :D

    In the US though, they usually quote without tax (typically 7% or so is added at the till), that could make it £120 ish over here (17.5% VAT) but chances are they'll want to milk it (like they always do)

    before you cry "rip off britain" remember the US pay sales tax.

    Other apple products (Final Cut Express, Logic) priced at $199 are £129 in the UK.
