NEC e616V unlock needed

HI all

just trying to find some info on how to unlcok these phones from the 3 network. been reading here for a while but cant seem to find any unlock thats is being backedup by a few users as a good one.

Ok so there is the code unlock, that u just key in....some say it doesn't work.

Then there is the company in nottingham and an other few companies that u can send your phone to and ghet it unlocked.

Now does this unlock completly unlock the phone? are all utilities and menus available after it?

What is the cheapest one and more the point which one works the best?

Its early days for this nece616v unlock I found the people in nottigham and spread it round the net........reports are comming back that all is well so far ...mines due back at end of week.....I'll post my opinion here when I get it.

I posted a while back asking for people in nottinham to give it a go and report but no one did so I've sent mine with 10 others from swansea to be unlocked.

Apparantly the device and s/w to do the job is mega expensive and as yet only a couple in the country............mind you that'll soon change with the nec's flying outta argos this last few days.

I'm in Edinburgh and having bought the E616v, I've contacted a couple of outlets who unlock here and both have said they hope to be able to unlock this phone within the next month. So I think its a case of just waiting till this "expensive" software is more available locally.

i have had them done in notts and they work fine although you may not be able to use gprs?
and new tmob sims may not work but all others work fine
