if they are 'real' leather then its possible to stretch them by damping the leather inside (not soaking but damp!) then stuffing the area you want stretched with newspaper and leaving a couple of days to dry out completely.
  • I use a leather-expanding liquid bought from a shoe-repair shop. Moisten where they're too tight inside and out and then wear them until they're dry. You might need heel-grips if they're slightly too big for you and rubbing.

I soak shoes and boots in a sink of hot water for a few minutes - get them fully soaked through, then stick some socks on and wear them the shoe or boot to do housework in.
When I do this I have a stock of dry socks to keep changing into as the socks get wet. - first few pairs will get very wet!

I've done this with leather, suede, man made materials anything. I've found that providing the whole entire boot or shoe is immersed in the water you don't get water marks.

Once they shoe/boots are getting much drier and feeling stretched I then leave them to dry on their own.
I do spend about 2 or 3 hours to wear them in this way though - but it's worked for me for years!
