  • Are you sure that your DD actually likes the shoes?
is she saying they are too tight so she does not have to wear them?
Asda are really good at taking things back for the most minor of reasons so if you think they may be too small for the marked size take them back.

i got them reduced as they were the last pair, they had knocked them down and DD2 liked them and was all excited when i brought them homewe had spent 2 weekends trying on every shoe in town to no avail so i knew what size i was getting and have got them from asda before for her. But i think she has got so used to wearing boots she is finding it hard adjusting back to a shoe.

When any of us go from a nice worn pair of comfy shoes to a new pair they will feel tight - even from summer sandals to new winter boots - just make her try them once or twice and then you'll see if there are pressure points or blisters.

Blisterstick!!! God, I wish I'd had that every September in my new school shoes - I'm sure my heels have never recovered even 15 years on!

just read your post thats exactly it i tried to get her to wear them about the house but they sat instead under her dinning room chair all day .

I am afraid she is the fussy child in my house

Clarks shoes aren't always the best shoes to have though.
My kids have both got odd feet- DD is very wide with high instep, DS is narrow with high instep. I can never get shoes to fit them in clarks. I always go to all the shoe shops looking for shoes for them and it's a pain!
DD also has HUGE feet- size 1 and she's 6. It is really hard getting age apropriate shoes for her. I have to say though that she got a pair of brown leather boots from Clarks the winter before last when she was still 4. I paid £19 but she wore them to death. I've just thrown them out (well recycled them!) because they really can't fit her any more. She's only grown 1/2 a size since then though. I had to promise her that we'd get her a new pair this winter.
We do always go to Clarks to get their feet measured and have a look though.

A pair of shoes bought from anywhere can be taken into a clarks/startrite shop and they will check them on your childs feet to make sure they are ok.

My brrod are a nightmare to buy shoes for.. 1 has super skinny skinny feet.. one has superduper WIIIIDE feet (like mine!!) 1 has 1.5 shoes sizes difference in her 2 feet!! they ALL have a high instep and low ankle bones. One also has learning difficulties and though is only in a size 4 he cannot do laces and above a sizze 3 they simply do not do shoes that he can manage. I just buy my shoes from evans.. the widest they have in the shop and stretch them!!! and I'm not even obese!! lol

This time we ended up with Hush puppies from brantanos which he loves, fit perfect but the school are going crazy about because they are not 'in line with the dress code'... He is wearing them anyway.. I said if they can find some they deem suitable that he can put on, fit properly and have no laces they may buy them for him..

    Hi Pigpen

    My daughter cannot do laces.

It obviously depends on your sons difficulties but if you do a search on ebay for either 'elastic laces' or 'lock laces' they may be of some help :)

    Much much easier.

Also, Clarks do a boys velcro shoe up to a size 5 for definate. They did do one up to a size 7 (I know because my daughter has a pair she is still wearing!!) If you want me to check if they still do them then let me know :)

common sense tells me that you cannot stretch any shoes other than leather.
Your little girl doesnt think her shoes are too small, she knows theyre too small, they are hurting her feet for goodness sake. if shoes arent comfortable the minute you buy them they will stay uncomfortable. that goes for adults too.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I have found that filling a sandwich bag with Water and placing it in the shoe (toe area) and then putting it in the freezer overnight works, because as water freezes it expands thus gently stretching the shoe. I do this with most of the sandals I buy as I have wide feet at the toes but narrow at the heel. it might be worth a try ? xx

    OMG this worked

i had given her a few days of doing what she wanted with her shoes and what with the weather she had been wearing wellies anyway. but last night i did as above and put them in the freezer, i told her this morning i did something special to her shoes so they would not rub and took her to the freezer to get them out.

it was hilarious, some of the water had leaked and the shoes were covered in ice so there was i 5 mins before leaving for school bashing her shoes against the kitchen sink in the end i put them in the microwave for 20 seconds to get rid of the ice then dried them all up and said for her to try them well she put them on with no fussing and went to school - HAPPY - she then went on to tell most people we saw on the way how her mum froze then cooked her shoes for her this morning so she could wear them she thought it was great. and when i saw her lunch time ( i am her dinner lady) and asked how her shoes were she was still fine just one was slightly rubbing her hell still but it can't really of been bothering her otherwise the whole school would of known about it.

Thank you so much hand maiden

I bought some leather boots from ebay. they're lovely, fit on the length but the width around the middle of my duck feet is a little restrictive. i know it will loosen eventually, but also the heels rub as they're a bit too loose. is there anything I can do to make them fit better? they were so nice and so cheap...

You can buy a shoe stretcher. It is a wooden thing you put in the shoe and tighten the bolts on it leave ovenight and that stretches it. I have funny feet and always need to stretch 1 shoe only. I have had this gadget for years and bought it from a shoe shop - you could try ebay or ask your local shoeshop to get you one.
