Vodafone early cancellation fee?

My contract runs until 13th October. I've emailed them asking for my pac number and how much I owe them.
They replied saying £100.13 and a £71 early cancellation fee. They can go whistle for it. I've never paid one to any other mobile company before. Has anyone else had to pay Vodafone this fee?

I think you'll find that every uk mobile network will charge you an early termination fee if you want to cancel whilst you are still within your minimum commitment period (ie the original 12/18 months you signed up for). If you've never had to pay it before it's probably because you were always out of commitment before when you cancelled.
Unfortunately your choices are to either cancel now and pay the early term fee, or wait until october and cancel free of charge.I accept no liability if you chose to rely on my advice.0 -

Nope, I've cancelled early before with O2 and Orange and never had to pay anything other than the outstanding 'line rental'.I think you'll find that every uk mobile network will charge you an early termination fee if you want to cancel whilst you are still within your minimum commitment period (ie the original 12/18 months you signed up for). Dave, sorry, I don't understand what you're getting at...?Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
Hi Bettiepage,
I'm sorry to hear that you wish to terminate your account early with Vodafone.
With any early termination you'd be require to pay for the remaining line rental up until the end of your contract. Were you advised what the two charges were for?
I'd be happy to look in to this for you, Please can you drop me a quick email by completing Vodafone's online contact Forum and including the code FIT135 so that I'm able to obtain access to your account.
As soon as we receive your email we'll be able to see exactly how much you'd be required to pay for early termination.
Thanks
