Wired Router

My daughter and her house mates require a wired router as they have wires going to each room from a hub they intend not to use. Netgear so far seems a reliable make, is this the make they should be looking at? They seem to think wired is more reliable than wireless and they have the wires already in place.
Thanks in advance

all routers do pretty much the same job

netgear tends to be the more expensive one - perhaps you could try belkin, or binatone (which i use)

I'd recommend Netgear as a very good make. If they have broadband with a BT phone line. Look at the Netgear DG834. This is a very good quality ADSL modem/router.

Routers do the same job, but quality can make a difference (as with any product). Networking can be enough of a minefield, without adding to any possible problems by using cheap, low quality hardware.

By chance Rex they have indeed bought the model you have suggested, but could you tell me if it is capable of handling 8mb internet speed?

That router should handle 8Mb broadband with no problems.
