Really, I'm dangerous in real life like that.
Much better online. I can miff off far less people online than in real life.
I did laugh when Rob made the original post about you being sarcastic but perhaps he hasn't had the benefit of your previous posts about Aspies;) .0 -

Whereas I can relate better to people online than in real life because as soon as I open my mouth in front of real people, gobblygook comes out! :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I should have been clearer - we bought the house well BEFORE we took the plunge from secure full-time employment to having our own business and at that time - it looked like we'd be able to cover our mortgage - well not so in these recessional times and now we're in a bit of bother.
It also looked like we'd be able to afford the rent where we moved to - again not so AT THE MOMENT.
I bought furniture and clothes through Next and on a credit card when we were in full time employment and could afford the repayments. I shop on a strict budget now at asda and matalan - we certainly do not live some life of luxury you're all hinting at.
Yes it's stupid to make mistakes and get into debt.
Yes it's even more stupid to start taking some of the money that we invested into our company out to pay our mortgage - trying to prevent the inevitable - that we were going to lose the house and end up in debt.
The only thing we can do now is sell the house quickly, at a loss, move somewhere cheaper to rent - add the debt from the house to the other debts we have and use an IVA to help pay them off.
We can't end our rental contract until september so we cannot move somewhere cheaper until then. But I can't wait to move out of here and start afresh somewhere else.
We'll survive this. A lot of harsh lessons learnt.
Thanks again for all your comments and wise advice!!!
Thanks for the PM loveandlight I have PM'd you back.
I think that you have made some difficult but realistic decisions in a very short space of time.
The next bit is organising these into what can be done quickly and in a realistic timescale to prevent further borrowing/debt.
Can you get your house up for sale soon?
Could you do childminding from your home, tax free income although you will need to be registered.
Any help re budget's shopping/cooking on limited means well head for the Old style board, very friendly bunch on there, more than happy to help.:D
I just want to say well done for returning and no doubt viewing some harsh and indeed rude posts, please don't be put off by these ,stick around and we'll see what areas of support and guidance we can offer to you.
Maybe head back to the DFW board thoughDFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

I know I shouldn't try to be like normal people ... I should just stick with what I do already. Work from home without upsetting normal people out there
Just popped out to Somerfield an hour ago and managed to involuntarily slip in a "F.UCK ME" in disbelief at the till (in front of 2 customers, another assistant and the manager). That just fell out not because I am foul-mouthed or angry, but my brain gets in a spin if I am faced with the unexpected, bit like a mini tourettes if people I am trying to interact with don't keep to the script I have in my head.0 -

:rotfl: I said that in front of one of DS's teachers. But I am foul mouthed and I was angry.:rotfl:0 -

As an alternative for rubbish?
Or did you think there was some merit in comparing underwear at that moment.
At least you didn't actually throw your pants .;)0 -
I think probably everyone has sworn at an inappropriate time or said entirely the wrong thing in a job interview - I know I have! So perhaps your not so different that you think!! :rotfl:
The OP has stated a couple of times that they can't move out of their current v. expensive rented flat as their contract doesn't end until September. I just wanted to correct this as under certain circumstances it is possible to leave earlier. You can request permission from your landlord.. they may just let you do this, or else you will need to find a replacement tenant or contribute towards their costs in finding one - they are a few threads on this board already covering this situation.0 -

Trust me, advice however "rude" it may appear, that hits the spot is nothing compared to seeing your name in the paper in the insolvency section, in this case the OP has the possibility to lose both the house and the business if they fail to take decisive action.
It took something very unpleasant happening to me some time back before I realised just how hard you have to be, you even mentioned that you couldn't do without one single staff member, you can because if you don't then you may end up doing without all of them.
I also went through a period when I was running a succesful business, with (excess) staff and nearly ended up losing the lot because I was too kind to be cruel.0
