What will happen if i ignore the invoice and dont return the fan?
dont ignore it as they will get round to you again and mabey you will end up incuring more charges.. some did this with the studio cards fiasco with the free choccies and had bill of £30 odd quid and threats of debt letters and it will go on your credit file as a non paymentThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,

It now seems that daxon are sending out letters saying they have done a credit check and that you have not qualified for them, is this there way of saying they have made a mistake, cos my friend has a good credit rating and even she has been refused

Yep, I got one of these too. I didn't expect to receive it now - maybe just as well. Can a company send out letters like this saying you've failed a credit check when you haven't, or is there a way for them to 'fix it'?
I'd never heard of them before this, but, even if they have a plasma tv for nothing I'll never shop with them again.... well maybe I'll chance it for a plasma.0 -
Not good. I got an invoice for £12.44 today and I told the customer services rep I had the confirmation for £0.00. She didnt believe me and told me to "check my order codes". She wasnt very polite - treated me like I was an idiot really.
Do I have to pay the postage i.e. the £2.45??
I said I would return it to the post office.0 -
We didn't get the fan as apparantly I 'failed the credit score'. I don't know how I could have failed it as my husband and I have a good income and pay the credit cards off in full every month and never go overdrawn despite having a £1000 limit thanks to the nice flexible people at Halifax (nice to have a cushion there should we ever need it). At no point were we ever asked for a debit/credit card number whilst we were trying to order.
I imagine the reason they think we're a poor credit risk is because we live in a council house... although I'm sure they must have customers who live in council houses. If I'm buying something I'd rather just pay for it than pay 12p a week for 73 weeks anway... for too much effort involved.

Got mine, as many of you did, after receiving the order confirmation showing £0.00 total payment - but on receipt got invoiced for full retail price. Have spent a long time on this one, phone and email, complaining. Like talking to a brick wall!!!! Total robotic answers to questions.
Well, surprise surprise, in Wednesday's (5 Oct) edition of the Daily Mail (on page 46, Money Mail) Daxon were featured in another 'scam' (my word not the Mail's) offering a 'free TV worth £649.99 to loyal customers'. I won't go through all the reply, but the outcome was that Daxon was 'reported to the Advertising Standards Authority - again'
(misleading promotions).
The last paragraph in the article is " and says Daxon admits that it's failure.......to deliver its promised free offers.........'is very damaging' and says it 'mustn't happen again'. The OFT has now been told about readers' (Mail) comments"
Well, it seems like it HAS happened again!!!!
If anyone wants ,like me, to contact Margaret Stone at the the Daily Mail to 'advise' her about the 'free' heater the email address is; money.mail@dailymail.co.uk:grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing0 -
