I was wondering how to do this, my OH (who is a bit of a control freak), keeps posting my personal affairs on a website called mse something or other, and if she doesn't stop soon, I'm outa here. ;)

ROFL - Aren't they all control freaks (he types whilst checking over his shoulder to ensure he's not being watched!) ;)

Sound like thats the reason they are BOTH on facebook.

    Relationship is beyond salvage.

Get a Webcam and take it in turns performing for the baying crowd.

and Social Workers get paid for working this lot out?? Pffffft!!!

    [TECHY EDIT]

There is a multitude of possibilities to do this.

You are effectively requesting some parental controls on your PC.

IMO the best by far is K9 Web Protection. It is free.
If you try to Do your thing which he isn't allowed to do. You will just have to enter the K9 Password and continue doing it behind his back.

If he tries to do the same thing you do, he will get a blocked page appear so he will have to keep it in his trousers.

Not judging, just giving a technical solution...

The best way to do achieve this is through the router. Some (most?) ADSL routers offer access and content control so you can restrict specific websites for all machines on the network or just for specific machines. For example, my BT Business Broadband router at home lets me restrict categories and/or sites on a machine by machine basis.

Technically; Use the router settings (and change the password).

Practically; I think you need to talk!

Thanks for all your replies – I didn’t realise what a can of worms I was opening by asking this question! I could explain my reasons for it but it is all in my diary on DFW if anyone is interested. For those who don’t want to do that perhaps I can just respond (and defend myself!) against a few of the criticisms levelled at me!

    (1) I am not a control freak but just at the end of my tether! (While he is on Facebook he is not job hunting - we are in a pretty desperate situation so we need him to earn more money and make a contribution to the family finances. For full details see my diary on DFW).
    (2) I have talked till I am blue in the face without getting anywhere.
    (3) I didn’t plan to do this before warning him that I was going to do it – I thought the threat might be enough.
    (4) Time I spend on Facebook at a time – approx ½-1 hour. Time OH spends on Facebook at a time – approx 6-8 hours.
    (5) This is not something I really want to do but as I have tried everything else to get through to him, I thought that a few shock tactics might help!

My OH is lovely and we do have a good relationship – he is just driving me mad at the moment!
