Well I turned off all the storage heaters last night and we only used 6 units last night! it must be the storgae heaters! althogh I will be turning them back on tonight to make sure it isnt a fluke! otherwise i thing someone may be stealing electricity!

Yeah, i meant immersion heater. Its not very well laged to be fair so may get some new lagging for that aswell.

Thanks for everyones replys, I have a 70 littre tank and a 15 littre tank but have decided that its not these taking up that much electricity as the average unit per day is only 6 so im pretty sure its not them. it is likely the storage heaters.

I refuse to answer posts from people with such poor forum manners, why have you dug up this old irrelevant 2008 post about an all electric flat to hijack like this? huh?

Given that it's the poster's first post at least they've made an effort to find an answer before posting their question. If you don't want to answer that's fine, but it's not welcoming, polite, or friendly to have a dig at someone like that. Would you speak like that to someone face-to-face?

Why did they send you a gas bill for 2 months usage? Challenge it

This seems to be a Scottish Power ploy and the first one after the winter bill. I suspect it is a convenient way of bumping those with a tight budget out of the prompt payment discount which then takes 6 months to get back. I think it also drops you out of the dual fuel discount iirc.

    Hi pooh1412

The first thing I would do is check the meter readings that have been used to bill your gas account. Are the start readings and the end readings accurate. It may be that the account has been estimated for a while and we have now received accurate meter readings and this bill is a catch up bill. Also check the meter readings that have been used for 13/05/10. Are these readings close to what is showing on your meter now?

If the meter readings are correct, did you have your boiler on a timer, was the gas on all day etc.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

    Kind Regards
