£705.53 is the price before VAT

    £705.53 plus 17.5% is (£705.53 x 1.175) is £829

    BUT you can't deduct 17.5% from £829 as you would get (£829 -17.5%) £683.93

depends which airport you are flying from - I was flying to cork in april and wanted something from dixons tax free but as Ireland is seen as a domestic flight and not an international one - domestic flights at heathrow dont have a dixons tax free shop

I regulary buy stuff at Dixons when flying. The past couple of years I've bought a laptop, a camera, and a couple of months ago, some brill bose noise cancelling headphones. I've saved a packet buying stuff there!:D

Well, pleased to report I got my 'tax-free' Macbook!

Flying from Gatwick to Dublin, I went into the Dixon's Tax-free shop and paid for the laptop, at the reduced price. The assistant asked where I was going, to which I replied Dublin. Showed my boarding card and arranged for the laptop to be couriered to my home address, free of charge, on my return. Pleased to say it arrived with no issues, saving me £123 :T

    Good times!
