SMEG - my first ever Ebay problem!

Well I say problem... It's probably gonna be a negative but nothing I can do about it!
I listed some bits on Ebay for OH and they ended last night - including a set of his old golfclubs. Didn't go for much but to be honest we just wanted to get rid of them as doing a massive decluttering!
Well someone over the weekend decided to help us  and not only have we this morning found the clubs to be missing but some of his fishing gear is gone and some lighter garden machinery which was obviously easy to carry off.
Just had to contact the buyer to break the news to them, but am wondering if they'll think I'm just backing out of the sale because the clubs didn't go for much? Will really annoy me as I wouldn't do that and I put the starting price as the minimum we wanted for the clubs. As it is we'll probably get more for the clubs from the insurance company as our house insurance covers stuff in the shed so long as it's locked (which it was... the lock and the handle it locks were ripped off the shed and was still on the ground where we've left it as we've reported the theft) and ironically we happen to have pictures of the golf clubs because they were listed on Ebay
Just can't believe I'm probably going to get a neg (I have 161 feedback 100%!) so I guess generally this is just a moan at horrid nasty shed thieves!!!
Shame they didn't decide to nick my old bike... could have done with a new one! :rotfl:
Oh and think I'll have to get a new dog... not a squeak out of her! Useless!

I would give the buyer the crime number and explain as you have done here. These things happen, it would be a very unreasonable buyer who would give you a neg for this.0

What would you think Fay.....:rotfl:
Just explain it as you did here with lots of grovelling etc and you should be OK. Offer them 20% off anything else they buy.0 -
Well I have explained (minus detailing my moans and groans and so on) and I am happy to send him the crime number if he really wants it
Not sure what good it will do him though LOL but he can by all means have it
Oh well... I guess if I get a neg I get a neg... It'll be the only one on my account as the one from ehhh 4 - 5 years ago seems to have dropped off???
Still annoys me
And I'd love to offer him 20% off anything he buys... You think he's likely to be into nailvarnish and ladies dresses? :rotfl: DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Just heard back form the buyer and he sounds really nice! Now I feel twice as bad for not being able to sell him the clubs! He even saidhe hoped nothing irreplacable was taken bless him!
I'm just so annoyed and feeling a little violated to be honest... at least it was only the shed but it's still MY garden! Oh well... OH will repair shed tonight and add an extra 2 bolts with padlocks and we'll black out the shed window too even thought you have to go right up to the shed to look in!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more!
