To be fair, carolt, you do often pull people up on their spelling and grammar. As a member of the academic elite, I too sometimes cringe when I see the more obvious errors, but then not everyone on MSE has had the opportunities you and I had educationally. Are we to exercise a literary Apartheid and exclude those whose English does not attain a certain level? I hope not

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1200111&highlight=Just a note to any would-be buyer out there: you may have noticed (a) that house prices have fallen solidly for the last 11 months (b) that annual house price falls now outstrip those at the worst point of the early 90's crash (c) that all financial experts are regularly predicting Armageddon in the world economy, as one bank after another collapses. Before you come away with the false impression that us folks here on MSE know something that has escaped the rest of the world's financial experts/media, please be aware that certain very determined and busy trolls have been attempting to use the board as a propaganda platform.0 -
or maybe we could even exclude those posters who have a different opinion to Carol :rolleyes:

Anyway, back to house prices!
2011 the best time to buy?
With the interest rates set to increase, we wouldn't really be saving anything if we are buying first time?0 -

<pedant mode on>
I think a semi-colon after "errors" would have more appropriate than a comma.

A lot will depend on you local area and it's economic conditions.
There are a lot of people predicting interest rates to rise by then end of 2010, therefore buying in 2011 may not be able to get you a mortgage product as low as is currently available.
There is an argument to be had that when BoE rates rise, that it can be absorbed by the mortgage rates, but this is not a certainty.
Only you can look into your local area, do the market research and make an informed decision.
Good Luck.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

Are you the new carolt or just taking over her mantle?
[edit]
Thought I'd better correct my spelling before someone else does.

That's what I was thinking when I looked at the Thread creation date. Please correct me if I'm wrong but was that posted just at the point when house prices started to recover?
I especially liked doozergirls "don't listen to them, listen to me" comment, completely bang on. If you don't like having the input from people who have a different viewpoint from yourself, I suggest you start a forum called 'carolt's only' and bar logons to anyone other than yourself. You can then have a HP discussion to your hearts content and all members will agree with every word you type.0
