Nice try.
Next time: don't bother.
Get a life. Maybe.
Your right I shouldn't bother.
Some people just aren'y worth the effort.
I should learn not to get annoyed when a supposed teacher corrects someone where they have been found on numerous occasions to be incorrect themselves.
You never did explain your reasoning for correcting Hamish. Still incorrect, but I won't hold my breath for a valid point.
P.S. I do have a life, a very nice one in fact.
Wife, child, warm climate, excellent work life balance, three houses etc. Sorry, shouldn't have mentioned the last one as it will just grate on you that you have not been able to get one.
Maybe you should concentrate to sort that out instead of increasingly being bitter and twisted
P.P.S The first example wasn't a typo error, it was a context error
P.P.P.S It would probably be best if you didn't try to correct peoples grammar and spelling in here. It only highlights your incompetancy in your profession and points to a loss of an argument.
People who have glass houses shouldn't throw stones.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

So why if your life is so great did you choose to spend time you could have been phoning your lovely wife, playing with your lovely son or doing your lovely job? Or reading, posting somthing positive and helpful instead of rude and gratuitous, or just walking on the beach? Or whatever?
Why on earth spend some time searching through all my back posts (these weren't recent posts..) desperately trying to find typos or errors?
Why?
Why are you so bothered by me - a complete stranger on the internet - and what I post that you pointlessly waste your life like that? Is your life so, so sad?Do you have some undefined anger which 'beating' me in some utterly pointless internet 'battle' will resolve? Did you do badly at school and have unresolved issues with teachers?
Whatever it is, get over it. I'm really not worth it. You really MUST have better things to do with your life.
I really have no desire to bicker with you endlessly, any more than I can be bothered with a small barking dog that wants to playfight all the time.
Spend some time with that lovely family of yours. Those early months are precious - seriously - don't waste them on this kind of stuff. You'll regret it.
And I say that as a friend.0 -

A good point, well made. Perhaps everyone who seeks to mock people on here should think about the above?
It's one thing to spend time in internet forums to increase one's knowledge, quite another to spend it in the pursuit of arguments or to put people down. The former is time well spent, the latter is merely an indication of something lacking in one's life."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

I wouldn't like to meet his enemies
isn't 'afriend' a poster on here? Is this a sockie confession from carolt?

The son's asleep, the wife is having a bath and I have a bit of spare time.
You will notice that I have not posted here recently, I simply found it ironic that you pick people up on errors where you have been proven to be poor at in the past.
The posts were not hard to find, I recalled I replied to your use of the word stupider and a search came up showing only two threads. It took about 2 miinutes to find

You spout on so many times how you are a teacher and have marking etc to do, yet you continuously show gramatical and spelling errors in your posts.
I simply was asking why you did so when you are so poor at it yourself.
I put in a couple of links to save time being wasted by you saying it was not true and asking for proof
Simple thing is, do not take the position of teacher in here and try correcting others posts when yours can be found to be equally poor.:wall:

As I pointed out - see link above - stupider is correct.
If you would like further advice on how to correctly form comparatives in English, please PM me and I will be happy to oblige, but I don't think the other people on here are very interested.
In my entire time on here I've picked up on maybe 3 spelling errors? There are lots more I don't pick up on..as an English teacher it's hard to ignore..it bothers me, like an itch to scratch, but I do try to ignore it, because, let's face it, the content is more important.
Have a nice day ISTL and get over it.0 -

I will accept your use of stupider. I do recall that when I was taught I would have been pulled up for this and told to use more stupid.
Which is better "You are far stupider than I am" or " You are more stupid than I am"?
I see you have tried again to deflect that the first point you said was a typo error when clearly it is a context error.
As I've told you before, the last person I would come to for guidance on English is yourself.
Your right, the other members are not interested in you correcting people on spelling and grammatical matters, so please don't do it. That's all I'm askingIn my entire time on here I've picked up on maybe 3 spelling errors? Absolute garbage, you do it frequently and ignore when you are shown you are wrong.

As in this one where your grammatical failings were shown and you tried (although failed to do so) to deflect it.

Maybe if you will, you could explain your grammar in your thread title here

and there's loads more, much more than only 3 :rotfl:Have a nice day ISTL and get over it.
Yes, you too carolt, I will truly try to get over the hypocracy you show by correcting others when you are far from perfect.:wall:

I think Lily Allen says it better. You know which track I mean?
Look inside, look inside your tiny mind
Then look a bit harder
