i went to shop to get it with her and i tell you its beautiful and has everything you need also easy to assemble

    ^Agree

I bought the iCandy last year when I had my daughter and it is the best pram/buggy/system I have had and I would recommend it to anyone.

It is easy to assemble, has an adjustable handle height (handy for me being tall) and when you push it it just glides along.

It also comes with a change of front wheel so you can change to a 3 wheel system when the baby moves to the buggy.

It also has the options of lots of accessories - seat liner, parasol, foortmuff - which you can colour co-ordinate depending on the sex of the child.

    Love it!:D

Graco Mirage is very good. I have used it and it costs very reasonable. The travel system is around 120 and you can buy car base for 30. Overall very good buy from my experience.

Also try to choose a buggy that doesnt take a car seat, they say you should only leave your baby in the car seat for no more than 2 hours as it can damage the spine and if you travel somewhere by car and then put them in the buggy your 2 hours are up. Not many shops tell you this but there was plenty of research out when our daughter was born.

We were the same - I researched and researched and eventually hit on the Jane Matrix Cup. http://www.johnstonprams.co.uk/cat171_1.htm It's a lie flat car seat that can be converted to a sit up car seat - which also means that as a pram you can either have bubs lying flat, or sitting up at various different angles to view the world. Much better for their spine, and also for their breathing. Has a 5 point harness, so much better than lots of other carrycot type things. We also bought the more traditional rebel car seat as it's much lighter but still fits onto the chassis - I had to have a C-section and couldn't lift the Matrix to begin with. We don't use it now, but keep it as a spare just in case. We also looked at the iCandy, which I loved, but I couldn't get it into my boot (only got a Corsa). The Jane Carrera frame is an umbrella folding system, so it's compact when folded - teeny tiny! It's also a major bonus for storing it in the house. The only thing I'd change about it is the fact that when it's in push chair mode, you can't have the little 'un facing you. Madam seems to like it - the hood tips back so when she's having a nosey moment she can see all around her, but she can snooze in comfort if she wants.

Re Mothercare, I have to say I was really disappointed with them. I had got my eye on one of their systems, but when we went to have a look at it, the girl "demonstrating" obviously didn't have a clue, and it was so complicated! With the one we have, one click and you're away. I swear, I'd never have remembered what to do with the MOthercare one - and the thought of having to explain how to use it to Grandma brought me out in a cold sweat! I also couldn't lift the chassis, let alone heft it into the boot. Just proves that you really must go and try things out for yourself - what suits one person may not suit another. I also found that small independent retailers were more helpful and knowledgeable, I suppose it's their bread and butter and they have a vested interest in getting it right.

I have to say, our Jane was quite expensive but I am so glad that i got it - lovely smooth ride. Even my mom's impressed with it - and she's a hard woman to impress!

hi daughters baby is due 1st week in october and we have been looking at what pram to get.her boyfreind likes the mamas and papas 8 in 1 ultima but the car seat is not very good. daughter likes the quinny buzz which has better car seat but still not sure . any mums out there who can give good recomendations for a different make which they find good many thanks.

I would definitely try folding pushchairs and seeing how heavy they are to get in the boot of the car. I have three children and used various pushchairs and i can honestly say for me the bebe confort puschair was the best one. I had( and have kept, sad i know) a big high silver cross pram that i bought second hand for twenty pounds ! That was great and often transported two children at a time. I used it for walking from home to shops. Not everybodys taste but it served me well. Lots of car seats fit on chassis for convenience but it really is better for them to be laying flat . You could buy the car seat seperately if you wanted to.The maxi cosi car seat gets a really good safety write up it has a side impact system. It was first launched 18 years ago so it must be good to still be going. I hope i have not bored you too much.

it doesnt matter what pram you buy, you will always find something niggly with it, and once baby reaches 6m and can go in a small buggy, then you will not use the pram again, and will go over to cheap umbrella style buggy.

having had 3 kids, i think i must have researched every pram on the market, but until you use it on a daily basis, you dont know how it will handle

the quinnys look great, but depending on model they have varying probs. the zapps lack of basket (ok they now make a tiny one) means it useless for shopping with. so go up to larger ones in the range like the buzz, and sport and they are so wide, you cant get them through doors, or around shops

Loola great for babies, but by the time they are 1yr old, you are fed up of lugging the big pushchair around, and want something smaller.

Ive always found Maclaren to be good, long lasting pushchairs, but again, i made a mistake with the current one i have. i went for the techno XLR (should have stuck with just the techno model), because although its a smallish umbrella fold pushchair, it can take a carseat too (without having to remove any of the pushchair). however, i didnt realise that with a newborn when you have to have the seat flat, you cant get to the basket underneath at all. it must also be the longer pushchair ever. we have a huge car, but its still only just fits across the width of the boot.

so ive gone back to using my trusty Urban Detour. for the money i dont think you can beat the pushchair, for a 3 wheeler its not too wide, it can take a car seat, and the actual pushchair seat it quite spacious, so lasts a child until they are quite big. (alot of modern pushchairs seem to be quite narrow). has a lovely large basket underneath, so its great for shopping, and its really nice to push. ok it doesnt have the quirky look of a bugaboo/quinny, but its the pushchair i seem to gravitate back to. these things go like donkeys and last for years. mine must be about 10yrs old, and still looks/works great. they also tend to hold their price 2nd hand, so thats another thing to consider
