Hi Loafer,
<snip>
Virgin only charge 3p for Virgin-Virgin texts.
May I suggest "YOU ARE WRONG!"
Virgin bundles are for any network...You can now buy your airtime in bundles, whichever way you pay.
There are four different types of bundles you can choose to buy:
* any minutes
* any texts
* any minutes and texts
* any texts and pictures
By ’any’, we mean you can use it for any network you like, at any time you choose! And it’s not just mobile networks – standard UK calls are included too.
These all come in different sizes, so you can change your bundle size and type from month to month.
Choose the bundle that suits you best, and the more you spend the cheaper it gets.
The cost of your bundle will come out of your airtime balance, so make sure you have enough credit before you buy.0 -
Thanks for all the advice people
Like the reconditioned Samsung A800 at £44.99. That looks ideal BUT its out of stock
Now I'll probably only need to text Mrs Meldrew so 3p per text is great on Virgin but she's got more friends than me so I'm interested in the 800 texts to any network for £24 up front bundle. However I can't find it on the Virgin website :-[ All I can find is 800 texts for £24 for 1 month? Or I have missed something?
So basically if we got 2 Samsungs for £44.99 and the 800 text bundle for £24 and 3p texts for me (say 500 for a year) thats a total of £130 plus any calls at 15p which is brilliant.
All I need is for Virgin to restock and to find that 800 text bundle. ::)0 -

Hi Loafer - I'm not wrong if you pay as you go.
XNET for 3p only exists if you pay up front for the largest bundle of texts, many more than the OP believes he will use in the course of a year. As the bundles only last for a maximum of two months that's not really a cost-effective option in the OP's case.A bundle lasts one calendar month. So if you start a bundle on the 31st of a month it will run to the 30th or 31st of the next month.
<SNIP>
Don’t worry if you don't use up all your airtime. Simply buy another bundle and we'll add on your unused airtime for an extra month. That’s longer than any other network.
regards,
RMFor anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.0 -
Glad you got your phones Victor and I am sure you will enjoy your Samsungs. I lurrrrrrrrrve my little flip phone and no I don't work for Samsung or Virgin.
I would suggest your register both on the Virgin website then if you loose one or other you can instantly get the number and the phone blocked, check your calls etc.0
