Lilac, he only opened one letter, her bank statements as the solicitor was waiting for them & she said he could, also he's still paying the the mortgage & all other bills, so it should probably considered 'their' home.
BIL has been told her many times they can't afford all the pets they have, but she refuses to listen, same with the bills, I think she's extravagant, but she feels all her outgoings are normal & that BIL just doesn't earn enough.
She says I'm lying about my outgoings as no-one can live on what we do.

    Telephone £150 a month?
    Mobile £150 a month?
    Gas £350 a month?
    Electric £450 a month?

I can't see how someone can possibly spend that much a month? That is just outrageous if that is indeed monthly.
    Ouch.

£4000 is a minuscule amount to live off for 3 adults - from your sig. but who's to say it can't be done? I lived on £7000 a year at uni and had quite high rent and spent wayyyy too much on food. It's a pretty hard challenge but to accuse you of lying.

    Extravagant? She's downright careless!
I think it is in your BIL interest to speak to his solicitors and find out what he legally has to pay because him funding her lifestyle with £2000 a month is just plain riddiculous! If she wants that many animals she needs to earn the money herself!
Don't get me wring I'd love to have a horse and technically I could afford one - but I want to be debt free first! :) But 3?? And that many cats and dogs... frankly it sounds like a hoarder!

The reason the bills are so high is because they include arrears
