Hi Guys
After a lot of thinking i've opted out of the company car scheme and decided to get a car of my own, we have a max 4 year old car rule so it has to be relatively new, i've decided to go for a Accord Exec as it seems to offer the most kit and comfort for the price (if you have any other suggestions I would be open to ideas!
). I've had a look around and the average price seems to be about 14k for a used one, now i've never really brought a car before and have looked at Autotrader and Honda used car website, is there anywhere else I should look to get a good deal?, I really only wanted to spend 12k as my insurance is going to cost me 2 grand on top!
Any help will be appreciated!

£2000 insurance?! !!!!!!?!
Autotrader is best bet for stuff like that. There are 135 Accord Exec's on autotrader under 3yrs old between 7000 - 12000.
the Volvo S60 also offers the same level of spec as the Accord Exec. And similar price too.0 -
2 Grand, I know, I'm 23 years old with no NCD, however been driving safely for 3 years, 2 years named and 8 months company car, just not fair
I did actually have a look at the S60 but the engine is just too big, each one I saw was like 2.4D.
I'm after a 2006 diesel one and they are all 12 - 14k, I guess i'll keep checking Autotrader, looks like i'm going to have to empty my ISA, how much do you reckon I should haggle off a used 14k model?0 -
How about the smaller Volvo then if you're concerned about engine size/insurance? The S40. Shares the same chassis/engine/gubbins as the Focus...
I know years ago on autotrader you could set up an "alert" for a perticular car, so it emailed you when a new one was listed. Not sure if they still have that these days tho...0 -
Ah yes I did look at that, thing is the Accord looks so much better in the inside, so I think it is the one to go for, I guess i'll just go to a few dealerships and see if they will do a better deal, I do want to buy from Honda, hopefully they'll lower the 14k to 12.5 or so0
