Can anyone tell me where I can buy a cheap 3 mobile handset new or 2nd hand. My son has a contract with them and has broken his phone (for the 3rd time). You can buy them on ebay but they won't send to NI.

Try going in to your local 3 store or give a call to customer services. They will usually bend over backwards to get you up and running again so you can make calls and thus make them money again.
They may arrange for a repair or replace the handset for a basic model but usually if you play it right, you will get help from them.
As for eBay, most sellers do send to NI, even if they dont specify it. I find it best usually to never mention it, just buy, fill in the address and wait.
Unless they specificaly say that there is an extra charge for posage to NI, they have to post it at the stated rate. The usual postage thing on eBay just says postage to UK and as i said before, unless they make a statement with regards to postage to NI, they cant refuse.0 -
The guy selling them on ebay states that he doesn't post to NI. I was afraid in case I paid and he didn't send and didn't get a refund so I emailed him. He def doesn't post to NI. I'll call into the 3 shop tomorrow.Member #7 SKI-ers Club

three's website www.three.co.uk sells three pay as you go phones, from £49.99 - i'm sure you could stick his existing sim in one of those with no probs?0

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You could try ordering from CEX. i've bought various stuff from there shops in London, they've always provided a professional service. They also have a web-site which offers free delivery on all orders ("We currently only deliver to UK addresses and for security reasons we can only send items to the billing address of your account" no mention about NOT delivering to NI).0

Thanks all, He's on his way to Carphone Warehouse who can apparently fix it within 24 hours. Fingers crossed. If not we'll try some of the above suggestions.Member #7 SKI-ers Club

He's ended up getting one off play.com for £34.99. It was cheaper than getting it repaired. Thanks all.Member #7 SKI-ers Club
