Hello DD, thank you for your reply, I will keep the diary, and as some of this work was very recent I can get it in my calander on my home PC. It caused me to have to take time off, I then went back but had to come home after 3 hours last Monday. I worry as being off could make them even more determined to get rid of me.

Sadly I am not the only one, she had a poor temp in floods of tears last Monday, the only day I was in. One temp made a complaint last year, I complained in 2005 along with 4 others, it just never got any of us anywhere, in fact I am the only one of the four still left working there.

I should not really be discussing this here should I as this is totally off the topic of BR, so sorry in advance to anyone who is offended.

ME is a dreadful illness, and long winded to get diagnosed as well, I am not as bad as many others who have to stay in bed all the time. I do however now know my limitations, believe me I don't like them, as I have had to give up many things I enjoy, tennis is OUT! gardening in small doses, dancing out! mind you maybe that was out years ago bit old to boogie, but I dont like to think so!:j and I cant do that! jump up and down!

Even simple things like clapping at a concert (only been to one this year) can leave me in agony a couple of days later. I used to shop monthly but that is out, as it takes too long and the walking round does me in. Carrying, lifting are really no go areas as both the Occ Health doc and my own GP have told me. And cleaning windows well that is something I did and learnt the hard way not to ever do again.

It does affect my every day life, I don't iron my mum does it, she does most of the household chores, even hoovering will start my arms and hands off, and then I cannot sleep.

I do not know much about DLA, I just know I have to keep my job even on the lower pay due to reduced hours to support my son.

There is no way I could carry large saucepans of water, not without the result ending in my being in pain with in 24 hours, it is never normally immediate, which is why so many ME sufferers do themselves in by doing to much.

I will look into DLA, but surely you cannot claim that and work?

Another question, will my IVA people send me all I need? or are the likely to be awkward? Mind you the way I feel right now I feel like making a complaint over the way this has been handled for the last 4 months, not sure who I make a complaint to though?

Well can help each other out then Summer over the coming weeks or months, as I have no idea how long this is going to take.

Sounds like a plan. ;) I started that form today, its was hideous - serves me right for not looking at it sooner, but now I have started filling it in, its not so scary, just needs lots of info and I confuse easily. :D

    Hi,

The guys on here wont mind us going off topic, and in any case income maximisation is an important part of the debt advice process ! DLA is not means tested, so not effected by any other income. You must get some experienced assistance with the forms; CAB, welfare rights or dis rights centre.

Also I urge you to get some advice re the work thing and DDA.

Please let us know how you get on with both issues.

    Best,

Hi Rylynn - well done on finding the courage to post - everyone (well apart from the odd one) is very friendly and helpful.

Hope you get everything sorted and keep moving forward - hard bits over now that you've made the decision.

I confuse easily as well Summer, and having had to do fill in I&E for an IVA is not the same as this as they do not seem to allow you the same level of money for certain things.

I tried to take my mind off it today, I am a avid Tennis fan and my fav is Nadal, so I watched him beat Federer today, I then spent some time in the garden as I have to get as much sunlight as possible due to the Vit deficiency.

I am trying to work my brain round a plan of action to start from tomorrow. Starting with phoning the court to see their procedures, and then sorting out all the letters I have had from the IVA people. I need to do one bit at a time, and Tuesday is Occ Health day so that is another thing for me to sort out, and try to get a letter to the company that will also be useful for the OR.

I wont run before I can walk, as I will then just get into a big muddle!;)

I am sure we will help each other along the way Summer, and other people on here have been so kind and helpful I am so pleased I came here yesterday.:D

Thank you Merry I am just reading this. I guess none of us ever want to admit we need this type of thing! I will look at the forms now as well. As I indicated my mum does most of the housework, and that pains me as she is 73 and works an 8 hour day and is up at 6.30am to get to her job. I have to say though she has been brilliant, at first I think she thought it was all some bad joke, until she started to talk to people who told her more about the illness.

Fredsnail, I have you to thank for sending me here, the information here and help from others is second to none so thank you so very much for that, you are a very special friend.

DD thank you I will sort out the forms and get them printed off and looks like I will need a trip to the CAB if you think that is going to be necessary.

    Hi Rylynn

Just wanted to say hello and give you some support. I can't give you any advice re the bankruptcy as I'm just starting on this road myself, but sure you will get lots of help on here as I have, everyone is so friendly.

Re your ME I have fibromyalgia which is similar in some ways, I have had to go off work sick at the moment and it don't look like I'll get back anytime soon and I can understand the bullying your getting at work because I suffered the same, these are illness some people just don't understand.
Re the DLA I would def. try and apply, ring up for your forms and then make an appointment with someone like CAB to help fill them in because the forms are a nightmare. CAB have been brilliant with me, don't be surprise though if you get turned down first time and you need to go to appeal that seems to be normal and it's very long winded and can take months which is again why it's best to have someone like CAB sorting it out for you. You can claim DLA and work.

Hi Mrs Bones, I wish you well with yours and I am sure we will all keep each other positive through this, and at the same time our own experiences as we move through this process will hopefully help others, as others here have helped us.

I know every case is different, but I am sure some common factors play into this, and also things that we find out may be of value to others in the future.

BLTN thank you for that link off to look now.
