Like Angel says, anyone with a great idea will keep it for themselves.

However, stick with what you know best, if you are into a sport or a hobby then get in the habit of browsing that section every evening and see what sells and what doesn't, and then look round to see what you can source.

My advice to you is to pick a niche that you have knowledge about, and display your knowledge when selling such items.

Otherwise, a lot of things can sell reasonably well on eBay - take a look through eBay's categories. Much can depend on whether you can acquire items cheaply enough to make eBay sales work for you.

Too true, and the buyers get upset when they realised they didn't read the description carefully.

I'm into sci-fi and have found collectable items go for a lot. If I sold my Star Trek collection, I could probably make thousands!

Too many people bid on autographs not realising it is a cheap print off a printer. Something I could do.

I don't buy dvd's off ebay with rare exceptions - e-retailers often sell what I need for less.

I've had more success with rare(ish) collectable items than dvd's, electronics etc. Although I wouldn't suppose this is the norm.
