Gotta say, it made me squirm a bit when he had the chicken and mince, dont think I would risk it.
But seeing how many chidlren die a minute makes you realise the amount of waste we have, and surely more can be done to stop the waste.
The woman that was spending £150 a week on shopping! I was very jealous. We now spend £200 a month after several months on here learning to budget and cut down, so amazed how she could spend so much!I hope she takes away their advise and spends the extra on something nice.£2 Savers club £0/£150

I do it all the time. I've never had a problem with food past its date. Last week I bought eight packs of barbecue meat from Tesco, reduced from £3.99 a pack to £1.50 each. They went straight in the freezer when I got home, and will come out when we have a barbie.
I don't think I'd have eaten bread THAT mouldy, one or two spots you can cut off. The mince was too grey for my liking, and I wouldn't eat chicken 6 days old, as I'm funny about salmonella, but apart from that, why not?I Believe in saving money!!!:T

most use by dates are arbitrary, and tend to be very cautious. Why bother on eggs - you KNOW when an egg is off - if it doesnt smell bad, it is fine!
On fruit and veg they are pointless - I often buy avocados which are 'past their date' but aren't even ripe yet - daft!0 -
forgive me if i have been misinformed but i remember being told that good meat is not always blood red?spanky xx

i've had that with bananas as well as avocadoes. Green as grass but apparently not fit for human consumption.0
