Cancelling a contract needs one month's notice period

  • Now that I have to give 1 month's notice.

Would it be smart to reduce the monthly outgoings by choosing the cheapest package...

Vodafone should not have any problems with that.

I can confirm what has been said about cancelling via your PAC code.

I rung Vodafone today,to enquire when my contract was up for renewal, and, just as I thought,it's the 6th of November, and that I must give 30 days notice.

However,as soon as I asked for my PAC code,I was told I didn't need to confirm in writing,as asking for the PAC code is proof enough.

You can also ask them to convert your contract to PAYG. They will send you a new PAYG sim so you can port the number at anytime if you wish or keep the sim for use by another family member.
