Good to hear from you again Whotton and glad things seem to be working out for you.

You sound like you are really falling on your feet. Well done with the PE lessons - I'm sure you might be able to find courses at your local college in PE teaching if that is what you wanted to do.

I'm so glad that you are enjoying life more now and ejoying your independence - things will get better with your family, but it will take time. It took many years for me and my mum to get to a proper relationship. It takes hard work from both sides.

I'd been looking out for your latest update so please do keep posting and let us know how you are getting on especially as things are looking so postive for you.

    Good luck.

    Hiya Whottan

Can I just make a suggestion for further down the line? Its a lot further but since you will have all of this experience teaching in schools, had you thought about doing a degree and being a teacher? You will have tons of experience and lots of life skills and as a qualified teacher at todays rates you would start at £24k rising to £30k after 5 years (guaranteed increments). In addition you would be eligible for grants that would not need to be paid back due to your circimstances and lack of family support, and may have decreased tuition fees.

On a more immediate note, I know that currently you are coping but being mindful of the winter, there are organisations such as the salvation army which do Christmas Hampers and food parcels if you find that times are tough. Your connexions adviser will be able to access these as well as supported housing in something such as a foyer which may mean you are less isolated than currently.

Whatever you decide, you are doing a great job of looking after yourself and are a credit to yourself having the resources to get out there and help others even in difficult times.

Whotton - at my old 6th form, we were able to apply for a post 16 bus pass, which meant we only paid child fares. Your 6th form might do something like this?

    heyya guys :)

wow..well ive just finished my voluntary work at school and im now preparing for summer 2008 :)
lets make it a good one i say,
due to alot of cost cutting ive been able to save 60pound
which has paid for my ticket down the midlands
burton upon trent to be precise.. to see both family and girlfriend
this has shown me that with determination and heart i can achieve
so it does seem my mind is really settling into the whole independence thing

the love lifes picking up which has been a great booster on the happiness side of things, and i must say shes such a lovly girl.. genuine and 100% honest.. which is hard to find at such a young age..

so once more thank you for your replies.. ive seriously thought about the whole P.E teaching idea and its looking like a good one, however im going to give phsyio a go first.. but if the biology AS gets too over me then i shall be sticking to my 3AS degreee in p.e and going full heartedly for teaching. so with a career set in my mind and opportunity on the brink i must say life is and keeps on.. getting better and better

so thank you once more for the support and kind hearted comments xx

Good to hear from you Whotton ...

Fab news on the gf ... you're doing better than me at the mo! ;)

Can't remember if I said it before, but if you need any help with anything physio related, my best friend is a physio, so I'll happily pass on any questions you have.

Now go and enjoy the summer sun ... before it rains again! x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • wow well guys.. everything is still going extremly well..
ive been doing odd jobs for the mother, babysitting, gardening
you know just the odd little things.. but its given me a chance to build some bridges which does mean the world.. :)

so things are picking up on the homefront, also ive started on at sixth form and ive started claiming my £30pound ema which hopefully should come through in the next week or so :)

plus my school is looking into the whole bus travel issue, they believe theres a little pot of cash somewhere that should be able to help with travel costs and what have you.. fortunatly i got my gcse results back a few weeks ago and gosh was my reaction..

    english lit - B
    english lang - b
    science - B x 2
    maths - B
    btec p.e - 4 x C
    r.e - C
    ict - C

soo all good in my eyes :)
so im onto a science course and my diploma in p.e so that plus my CSLA (comunity sports leaders award) combined should get me a few ucas points and hopefully a place at newcastle uni on my physio course..
ive looked into p.e teaching and it appeals so ive chosen that as the fallback option for incase the physio dosent go to plan

so with that plan to hand i must admit things are looking good :)
i must say when your in this type of situation it does mean alot to have such support, even from people ive never met.
they're right when they say its easy to talk to a stranger, but to be honest ive rather grown onto you all, so id say strangers would be abit of a lost term :)

anyways im rambling on so.. thanks again guys for all the help
    x
