    thanks for everyones help and advice
    by the way my dad loves liver and peaches!!! but then he also eats raspberry jam with roast beef ,cauliflower and peas on toast and mint sauce on crumpets!
    hes big on eating leftovers!

    anyway your stew sounds lovely..... did you know that casseroles/stews taste even better the day after? The meat is softer, the flavours are better and the gravy thickens so that you can water it down and make more 'gravy'.
