XBox Live + Talktalk = Headache

Hi,
I've been trying to get connected to Xbox Live over the past month but apparently I have a strict NAT therefore I can't play my friends on line. When I phone up Talk Talk they are quite happy to wash their hands of my problem and tell me they don't support XBox access.
Has any one else had this problem and can they offer some advice on how to solve this?
Or is the best solution to go onto BT who have pages on their website dedicated to Xbox access?
