Faulty W810i needs sending back

I bought a W810i from Additions Direct in February. The phone has a fault and keeps switching itself off all the time. This usually happens when it is knocked slightly or sometimes can occur for no apparent reason. It began happening once or twice a day but is now happens as regulary as ten or twenty times per day. My guess is there may be some faulty wiring inside.

I've rang Additions and they did offer a full refund of £30 but considering I got the phone from a special offer, it would normally cost me twice that to buy another similar handset so I asked them to repair it but they refused.

I've tried to enquire about returning it to SE and downloaded a PDF file on their website but it seemed a bit confusing and seemed to suggest I could only return it to them via the merchant who I bought it from.

I would like to know can I just send it straight back to SE myself or can I force Additions to send it off for repair on my behalf?

As far as I know, the W810i comes with a standard 24 month warranty from SE, but I could be wrong. Your easiest option would be to try your network operator and take it into one of their shops to be sent for repair, if it is out of warranty it would be quoted for, and you can then of course reject it, as any price quoted for a repair is likely to be in excess of the value of the handset in fairness. beware though, check with your network on their policy on an inspection fee.

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

one of my friends has this model and it does exactly the same, even if she just places it down it switches off. She presumed it was a design fault ???

perhaps thats why additions would rather refund you, they've probably had a whole batch of them returned,
