Hi, no I dont think it will affect your IB as DLA doesnt count as income. my partner gets lower rate and it did not affect his IB. You can get both at the same time.November £10 a day challenge. Im starting early- 66p so far!0

Hi mackays,
Welcome to MSE.
DLA is not counted as income for the purposes of other benefits, so it will not affect your IB.
Do you also receive Income Support? If you have no other income in your household, you should be eligible for some IS.Gone ... or have I?0 -
thats great, many thanks indeed, i've been really worried about it. x0

hi there, thanks for your help. I wonder if you coule push me into the right direction. now that I have been awarded DLA, i can think about moving into a more managable property. I am currectly living in a property that i cannot manage (its on 3 floors). I am looking at private renting a 2 bedroom bungalow, as i sometimes require help during the night and a family member sometimes needs to stay with me. At the moment the Housing benefit are currently paying £340 per month but my rent is £450, would I be entiltled to any further financial help because Ive now been awarded DLA, ie help with furnashing costs, energy costs etc. Thanks again.0

mackays I think the same question was answered here
If you are on IS and have been for enough time budgeting loans and community care grants you can apply for but they aren't guaranteed. Budgetting loans need to be repaid, Community Care Grants don't.One day I might be more organised...........
