Yes this is the problem with the new system. I have one neg left in April, that meant my 100% rating went down to 99.8% based on the past years figures. Each month as I sell less and less that negative becomes more and more dangerous until my rating starts to drop considerably.

I worked it out on the back of an envelope that just to stay at 99.8% I need 41 positive feedback for every month in future until the neg is over a year old. The month in which I don't attain 41 positives my feedback percentage will drop. So I am the same seller, but my feedback gets poorer and poorer

i woldnt really mind [or have noticed] except i listed a tandem pushchair today thats only been used twice and i wonder if this feedback score will affect the sale? ive only ever had one neutral, the rest all positive. the neutral was from some donut who didnt know how the feedback system worked.

Have you noticed how many Sellers now have 93% to 95% positive feedback?

To be honest it wouldn't really worry me - I look at the feedback and see what percentage of negatives they had in the previous month compared to the number of transactions and decide from there.

At the end of the day we can never keep everyone happy.

I tend to think that a lot of buyers are leaving negatives just because they now have the freedom to do so. It should settle down.

You may find it affects where you are in the search. Go into Ebay as a guest and search for a tandem pushchair and see how visible yours is.

Also, to get out of the 'relegation' zone have you got some small bits and bobs you can list to sell and get some quick feedback? One neg or neutral in 20 positives has been enough to get people a temporary suspension, so try and get a bit more positive feedback quickly.

ive done that and im second to one that has 1 day left. but then theres only mine and this other persons on there. theirs is cheaper but used. mines been used twice for short journeys and still has all the wrappings on the frames because i never took them off. ive listed it as used. if it wasnt for the wheels showing that it has been used outside i would have listed as brand new.

Its a disgrace , a good seller and buyer who isnt `as active` as a power seller , is way way down the list on searches , it simply isnt fair

Ebay remind me of the labour government

    strange eh

You might not think that way if you had bought that 'brand new' pushchair that has actually been used not once but twice ;)

... and how exactly does someones feedback fall from 100% just by an account not being used recently.

I've got an ebay account that hasn't been used recently and that still has a 100% feedback score. Whilst I'm not using it, it can't receive a neutral or neg. What am I missing here that would result in the 100% positive being reduced?

The only way I could imagine this is if the account had a total feedback score of say 10,000 and the last one was a neg. 9,999/10,000 would probably be rounded up to 100%.

But surely it's fair if less than 100 of those 10,000 transactions occured in the last year to more accurately reflect recent performance rather than hide behind performance that could have occurred many years ago.

Feedback percentages are now based on the last 12 months (rolling) rather than over a lifetime. Therefore if you get a negative now and then didnt sell anything else for a year to get more feedback then as the year goes by that one negative becomes a larger percentage of the total feedback for the rolling year and has a bigger impact on the total feedback score. Therefore on the day before the anniversary of getting the negative if you had not received any further feedback then effectively your feedback percentage could be 0% (or can you have a minus???). I hope this make sense as this is my own interpretation of how I reckon it works.

This happened to me too... was 100%, fell to 97.9% when the feedback changes first came in. Now at 97.4% as I haven't bought/sold since then until last night. From one neutral.

I've got to sell and get positive feedback for at least another 11 items to get back up to 97.9%!
