I drink my redbush tea in pint-sized mugs. One redbush tea-bag per pint makes a strong and delicious hot drink, with a dash of milk.
I have been drinking redbush tea for over 10 years now (not all the time, just a few times a month) but it never occurred to me you could put milk in it. The whole idea seems so odd I'm scared to give it a try!
Does anyone else drink it with milk or am I the only one drinking redbush tea without it?0 -
Great, thanks going to try this. I drink some tea without milk - depends on the variety - Russian Caravan Tea I like by itself as it has such an amazing flavour..0

Actually, with me, it's not a matter of finding it delicious, although I cannot say I find it disgusting. I find it very pleasant.
But I needed a pleasant daily hot drink that did not contain caffeine and which might hopefully be good for me.
And thus I found redbush.

"Rooibos is becoming more popular in Western countries, particularly among health-conscious consumers, due to its high level of antioxidants such as aspalathin and nothofagin, its lack of caffeine, and its low tannin levels compared to fully oxidized black tea or unoxidized green tea leaves. Rooibos also contains a number of phenolic compounds, including flavanols, flavones, flavanones, and dihydrochalcones. Rooibos is purported to assist with nervous tension, allergies and digestive problems. Traditional medicinal uses of rooibos in South Africa include alleviating infantile colic, allergies, asthma and dermatological problems."
See Wikipedia for sources re. the above claims.
