3 contract up for renewal

Hi,
my contract with 3 runs out on 8th of november. I have sent them a letter cancelling the contract and intend taking out a new contract. I really only want a reliable phone to talk on. At the moment I need my 12 month bill to send to e2save for my £100.00 quid cashback.
In order of importance these are my needs:-
reliable company for cashback
cost over year
long battery life
and once again any way I can claw moneyback eg rpoints, refferal etc
I would like at least 400 xnet minutes not bothered about text,
thanks to anyone who could offer advice.
david

  • will they accept your letter of cancellation this early. from my experience, i was told that i could only cancel 28 days prior to end of contract. ie. give 28 days notice?
    Nice to save.

I don't see any reason why you can't give them more than a month's notice of your intent to cancel the contract, you just can't give them less than that. I would follow up with a phone call to make sure they received the letter though, Vodafone twice competely ignored my faxed notices of cancellation and charged me for extra line rental even though I know the faxes went through to the number they had given me- robbing gits:mad:.

Anyway, I'm in almost exactly the same boat, except that I want to keep my number. I reckon that this time round I'll probably still get the best deal with 3, and I've been happy with their service (good coverage round here)- but I'm not sure how to cancel one contract and then get another and carry my number over from one to the next.
  • the easiest way to cancel is to call 333 on your mobile, I did it today - although i had to go through about 5 different people to do it
  • I was going to cancel my contract until they offered me a better deal than i was going to get... another 6months half price line rental (not cashback though, actually done through them) and a new Nokia 6680 phone... plus will change to cheap tariff after 6 months.

are you sure its not an 18 month contract though
  • hmm not too sure about that actually.. i said i want 12 months.. but who knows... my girlfriend is changing hers soon so i'll get them to confirm then...
  • yup.. just spoke to them.. 12 month control... but 18months if you want :)
