Great ISA Deal but any point if they don't transfer the funds

I don't want to blame Martin but on his advise I transferred my ISA from Natwest (my current account bank).

I'm sure there are cheaper internet deals but we chose the Alliance and Leicester to do ours as the rate was good and they would deal with the transfer for us.

On the 12th of April we booked our appointment signed the forms and was told to wait 28 days. Although the account details came through pretty quickly 2 months on the funds haven't.

I've chased A&L they've said they've had confirmation from Natwest but can't provide me with proof. I've chased Natwest they're categorically saying they haven't received any request (even after I lodged a written complaint.)

As A&L can't provide evidence I can only presume they're in the wrong and written them a complaint requesting compensation. The increased rate is a joke if I lose out 2-3 months worth!

I also feel bad because I recommended a friend to do the same, she's in a worse position, her Halifax ISA account is now closed and still no funds in her A&L.

I just wanted to warn people and enquire if we're the only ones who's not had a smooth transition and such poor service.

You don't need to do a poll: just a quick look at the recent postings regarding Lloyds, Barclays, A&L, NW etc. will soon reveal what a shambles the transfer process can be.

You'd really think that the powers that be could work to make an ISA transfer easier and more transparent. It surely can't be that difficult?!
