To suggest that this was a scam is to suggest that Orange and /or Poke went into it with the intention of conning the participants in some way. This is highly unlikely.
I feel that Orange/Poke have tried to create an imaginative, innovative and fun event but MAY (nothing is yet proven) have been undermined by a person/people who want to win by any means. I feel sure that Orange/Poke will be as anxious as anyone to find out if there has been any foul play and hopefully they will supply an answer as quickly as possible.

Toniq, I wasn't trying to proove this was a scam with these quotes, I was trying to show Loquax that others felt there was a problem with this competition. The proof is detailed in links provided on the Loquax thread which I went through myself.
It is now for Orange to make clear what the situation is - if they can show there was no wrong doing then all is well.... but they better get a move on because I am not the only one annoyed!

oh i do hope that this doesnt get too nasty, lets not argue amongst ourselves;)

although i have said i think it looks dodgy, i dont think we should be jumping the gun too quick, lets wait for a reply from orange;)

I just think that alot of people spent alot of time doing a great comp, all in the hope of getting the top prize! or at least a daily prize! and now people are feeling that they have been conned(me included).

Its because of the tv comp scams, people are just more aware;)

and lets face it if this turns out to be true it wont do oranges reputation any good, so im sure there will be an announcement very soon;)

Yeah, whatever happened to these "daily" prizes anyway? I assumed they would have been doing a daily draw for prizes while the balloon race was on. Maybe they have done these draws but are just sending out the prizes without notice? I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Ooooh scandal in the comping world! I'm more annoyed about the lack of mention about the daily prizes than the overall winner tbh. I would have thought we all had a great chance, especially Toniq with her little galaxy of collected stars!
Hope its all sorted soon, it certainly wont look good for orange and other sites that supported the race if it turns out to be a sham.

Thanks for playing Balloonacy and sorry to see this has caused such a negative debate. Orange takes the allegation of cheating and collusion from one of the competitors in the Balloonacy race very seriously.

We would like to reassure everyone we have looked into this fully and have found no foul play . We understand that the ASA have been contacted and we are more than happy to cooperate fully if they wish to pursue an investigation.
