I have read the Loquax thread, what a waste of time this race has been! I have just sent this to Orange:

I am presently an Orange customer. In good faith I entered your
competition and my balloon, Rola, finished in 204th place.
Recently I have been reading on various forums on the internet that
the competition was a scam - it was won by somebody connected to one
of the game designers - I have actually seen links that prove the
connection!
Nobody appears to have won a daily prize for the stars they collected......
I am disgusted that this was a waste of time for everyone and will be
looking into terminating my contract with Orange.
I don't mind not winning but I object strongly to being made a fool of

yes i agree, a complaint has been filed to the ASA by the 2nd place winner and i hope she gets the holiday, there is a definate link and we have wasted our time by the looks of it:rolleyes:

on the last nite i noticed my place went down from 44th to 93rd and many people were overtaking me, i thought it was odd then and i am convinced orange will be found out!

what a shame though because if you forget the cheating it was a good game, seems like just not fair;)

OMG, I loved this competition sooooooo much, as much as it was hard work, I can't believe it's turned into this!!!!!!

I doubt they will run it again now

I imagine a lot is going on behind the scenes, with Orange consulting legal people whether or not they have grounds to suspend the winners prize and give it to the next highest place. There usually is something in the T's & C's about employees and their associates, family etc not being allowed to enter, but I guess it's a case of proving it.

If it was someone cheating etc, it was very stupid of them to put it with the same family name!!! I don't get how they cheated and someone had screenshots to prove it?? I can't get on Loquax to read the thread, it's going really slow for some reason. As a rule I don't go on there anyway, but thought I would to see what they were saying!!!

Apparantly a few ppl were watching this balloon near the end and noticed that it was jumping, say, 100 miles in a very short space of time.

I hope that there hasn't been cheating going on but if there is then good luck to the woman that came second and hopefully she can claim what is righfully hers.

Aah, that explains it, I wouldn't have noticed as I was too busy watching my own balloons place drop rapidly before my eyes!!! :rotfl:

Well if they were silly enough to cheat (and so obviously at that) it seems as if they were destined to get caught. I hope Orange resolve it soon xxxx

blimey, I've just signed up just to read the thread over there, and I'm glad I have!

I know I'd never win after 24 hours of playing (just didnt have the time) and I feel SO sorry for the lady in 2nd now - I hope she gets some sort of decent resolution after this, as it screams dodgy to me IMHO!

As far as I'm aware it's not been said that it was a scam, it's not proven that the winner/designer are connected other than by having the same surname and there are no links that prove anything conclusive to connect the two.

It may well be coincidence and it's important to take that into consideration before firing off emails and jumping to conclusions.
