SquatNow, you're sailing a bit close to the wind with that comment.

Its a pity you can't port your mortgage from a house to a boat, but I hear the market is not that buoyant at the moment. Okay, I'll bow out quietly...........

Better bow out quietly before someone decides we are all 3 sheets to the wind and decks us, don't you think?

I suppose plumbing problems are many times worse on a boat - you either fill up or sink? :rotfl:
  • Trying to keep things on an even keel, and at the risk of finding myself out of my depth, I too would really love to live on a barge.

This exchange of pleasantries makes a refreshing change from the bilge that you can get in other threads though, not that you'd take on board anything that some posters say. All they do is post gybes at other folk, and then go off on another tack. We must stop - someone will barge in and get stern with us

Ah but the tide can turn at any moment.

Come hell or high water you can be sure that someone will be along shortly with a parting shot across the bows to set us on another course.

Many may soon struggle to keep their heads sufficiently above the water. Would you say that the current housing market crisis means that we are on course for a boom in the boat market? Or is that theory just a load of rowlocks? I personally don’t have a clew about marine finance , but have always ‘ankered after living permanently on a boat. Is there a beam of hope or should I give the whole idea a wide berth?
