I applied for a Capital One Platnim card, I've been rejected for that (it was a bit of a long shot, My credit rating is good, but i only have £1000 limit on my CC and they wanted £5k )

They've offered me a classic which i'm not going to accept, I want to balance transfer to 0% and this doesn't offer it. I only want to transfer £400.

Will the rejection have a negative effect on my credit rating, or because they offered me something else is it ok?

I'm going to apply for the Abbey Zero instead.

Just accept it and cut up the card.

Personally I don't think this will have a negative effect and you will be ok to apply for Abbey Zero.

Negative effects are usually due to making too many applications in a short period of time, or consistently paying late, or breaking through your credit limit etc
