According to Katie <quote>"...It's very nice and also quite forgiving, so you should try it even if you aren't confident. It keeps well, though not with two greedy people around. We agree it tastes better cold, and it has never need the whole cooking time stipulated in the recipe, otherwise it gets a bit dry (though still divine). We ground the cardamom seeds in Thomas's old fashioned hand wound coffee mill. It's very quick that way. I know people who buy pepper mills to use exclusively as spice grinders. Imagine that kitchen. If it's me on my own making it, sans the old fashioned grinder, I use a pestle and mortar (chunky bits, hard work) or my electric coffee grinder (pulverises, coffee tastes of cardamom for a while after). I hope polkadotmittens, whoever/wherever you are, doesn't mind me linking to her recipe. Since it's a loaf cake, may I plug the silicone paper loaf tin liners I use? They make life very simple - drop the paper case in, no greasing or cutting to size, put the mixture in, cook it, take it out all in one piece later. The silicone-ness means it peels off the finished cake easier than the paper cases you get for fairy cakes. You can buy them at Lakeland which has I know also has shops in Edinburgh and Cambridge..." </quote>

I add them to custard. Just boil them in the milk. You can remove them or leave them in the custard when you are serving it. It gives your custard a really unique flavour. You can also add them to green tea. Almost forgot to add...if you boil cardamoms in water, it will stop you vomiting. Ive tried this and it definately works. You can add sugar or juice to the water if you want to get a different flavour. Cardamoms boiled in water are excellent to stop you vomiting. You can use it for even young children as its a natural product.
