PN, if I ever get a house, would you like to come for a meal:D ?

(now at least you've been invited, ok:cool: )
Yes. We can start a thread on the OS board asking which cheesecake should be made.

And another to enquire which wine a guest should take/how to make parsnip wine and bottle it (possibly in a hamper)

I've noticed a distinct trend towards flats and "apartments" that have the kitchen along one side of the living room, with no dividing wall or door. I can understand it in cramped little conversions, but even spacious executive penthouses now seem to be going the same way.

I just don't get it - what's the point if there is room to have them separate? Imagine trying to entertain friends, or just have a romantic cuddle on the sofa, with the washing machine rumbling away and pans rattling on the hob and steaming the place up, in the same room. /quote]

I don't like it, personally. Ideally, I'd like to have a kitchen with room for a table and chairs, so that if someone's cooking, other people can sit and chat. But a separate living room is important for me - so that you can shut the door on the washing machine or dishwasher, and most importantly, the washing up!
