New line for broadband

Just after a little bit of help if possible. I'm having a brand new line installed thanks to the £30 new customer offer posted on this site, but just wondered is there anything I need to do prior to getting a broadband provider? Will the new line be automatically activated for adsl or do I need to get BT to do something at their end once the line has been installed?

you have to wait for the line to show as "active" on BT's database of broadband lines , then you can sign up with your choice of BB supplier. The work is carried out seperately to the provision of the line

Thanks for the information. Do you know roughly how long this takes? Is it usually a matter of days or can it be weeks?

On paper its every 4-6 weeks recurring that the system updates automatically. As soon as your line is active, as in you can make & receive calls you should have no problems in ordering broadband

Much appreciated, was hoping it wouldn't be too long so I can get broadband asap, will wait and see how it goes next week before I start checking out all the broadband offers!
