I'm still waiting for 9 things. We've not had any post for 2 days either!
NOW IN COMPING SEMI-RETIREMENT!
AL MAC APPRECIATION SOCIETY MEMBER NO: 550 7480 -
Hi guys I don't know if anyone can help me with a bit of advice?
I won 2 things on the Glamour comp - Hugo perfume and Mark Hill serum.
Since I won, I have moved house. Tried emailing Phoebe the day I got the wem but she said she couldnt change the address given, and that the list had already been sent to the suppliers. I can't get a mail redirection at the moment (finances not good) and my previousn landlord wont let me get any post from the old house. Any ideas on how I might be able to get my prizes, as the post office near me are being ridiculously unhelpful.
Thanks in advance

According to the Royal Mail website there's something called Mail Collect -
"Mail Collect is a free service that lets you collect mail from your local Delivery Office at a time that suits your needs. We hold your mail securely at our Delivery Office and it can only be collected by authorised people with ID."

Although with the risk of identity fraud I'd seriously consider have the mail redirected for a year - £37.40 a year. Particularly as you don't know who the landlord will be moving into your old place..........

Thank you Essexgal thats really helpful. I'm looking into it now hopefully i'll smell gorgeous (not that I dont already) and have fabulous hair after all! x
maybe not - just read t&c's and you actually have to occupy the address you are applying for - sob!0 -

oh rats, although if you had a recent utility bill with you at that address, how would they know you weren't still there......
Hmm, perhaps you could call at your old address and make friends with the new tenants - ask if they'd be willing to let you call and collect your post once a week for a month or two as your landlord is particularly unhelpful. Bottle of wine or box of chocolates as a housewarming present could help here.
Is it that the landlord doesn't want to give you access to the property (which I suppose from his point of view is fair enough) or that he's unwilling to let you have your post - not sure if legally he can withhold it from you or not.....
I'd seriously look at getting it redirected though - even if you can only afford a month at a time.

p.s. might be worth asking on the house buying, renting and selling board - sure that there're people that must have had the same problem.;)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)0 -
Its not that he's witholding the post, its that he won't allow us to collect it. Theres nobody in the property at the moment and he doesn't know what he's doing with it (needs a lot of improvements and stuff before he could rent it out or sell it) so it will be empty for a while. He won't meet with us to get it, and doesn't know when he will be going back in there so by the time i get to it, the items will have been sent back to the senders. And by the sounds of it, most people have already received their Hugo perfume so they will have probably already tried to deliver it. The post office won't even entertain having a look to see if they have anything for me, which I suppose if they have hundreds of parcels a day is fair enough. I might just have to be a sneaky sue and try this mail collect thing...0

That's a real shame they won't have a look for you, I had a parcel go to my old address when that awful strike was on last year - (I would have received it before I moved if it wasn't for them striking) and I kept popping in asking them if there was anything held back for me to be collected and one day there it was!! Do you have a seperate little sorting office where you would have needed to collect it from rather than the post office??
Maybe keep going past on the off chance it might be someone else behind the desk to ask??
If money is a little tight just go month by month getting your post redirected, definitely worth doing as when we moved there were so many things I had forgotten about that I hadn't changed however organised I thought I was making lists of everything!.They'll send you a letter when it is about to end and it's so easy to extend it rather tahn have to go through the whole process again.
Good luck xxxxxxxxxx0 -
I emaild Phoebe today asking her when my 7 things will be comingComping & Coupons!0

:Dmy replyDear .... thank you for getting in touch. We are not actually in charge of sending out the prizes here - each individual brand is sending out their own products so I have advised the magazine and they are contacting the relevant beauty brands regarding the delay. If you have not received anything in the next couple of weeks please let me know and I will chase for you.
Best wishes
