Can we get a better deal elsewhere? If so, where?

We currently have 8mb broadband and a phone line with virginmedia. We used to pay £21 a month as we had a discount for having them both with VM but now its gone up to £30 a month.

I havent had a look around yet but does anyone know if we can get a better deal elsewhere? We have cheekily gone back to Virgin saying we intend to leave to see if we could get another discount and they have basically said tough! Great.

We would need to re-connect our BT line which is about £160 as I understand most companies need a BT line? Or is there anyone we can use with a virgin line?

Any suggestions?

The only broadband that you get get with a Virgin line is Virgin.

What package are you actually on as there is no 8mb service on cable broadband its either 2mb/4mb (or 10mb if you have had the free upgrade)/20mb.

Sorry thats a typing error its 4mb. We dont mind if we have the same mb or bigger for the new package.

I assumed it was only virgin you could have with a virgin line.

Looks like the cheapest you can get it - without getting a special deal when threatening to leave is £27 per month.

Have you checked if your BT line is still active. You may be able to move to BT free if so. I just moved back to BT from Virginmedia free as my BT line remained active through the whole time I was away(though another number had been assigned to it). I'm having my number ported as well free. You may want to check this out.

No line is definitely deactivated unfortunately.

We are definitely going to switch just dont know who too yet! Thanks everyone
