How can I get a long mobile contract cheap as possible?

Hi, this is my 1st time posting here have been reading for a while though.
My daughter has a contract mobile in hubbies name and has come out of work but has run up a huge bill, after we pay this off is there any way to get out of the contract or get it as cheap as possible and stop her from running it up again while she can't pay. Still a long time left and they said we can't downgrade for another month or 2.
