I don't know if its already posted, but here goes, I've just bought an HD freesat box, and being a bit tight fisted I opted to install it myself, dead easy if you have a sky dish already up, just replaced the sky lnb with a quad lnb, ran the extra wire through the wall, all done for £15, lnb off ebay and some wire I already had, all the freesat stuff is there, plus if you go to additional channels on your box it finds about 400 channels, many are just regional copies and lots of shopping stuff, but a lot more than just the basic freesat selection, with this setup and my sky box I hope I'm future proof, I just wish the freesat box had a slot for the Sky card, it would save a lot of bother, just TV politics I guess, so save yourself £65, don't let the freesat people install a second dish, you just don't need it.
Oh and if it makes a differance I bought the Humax box.

Just a question. Why did you replace the LNB? Is there more than one tuner in the Freesat box?"...IT'S FRUITY!"0

I have sky in four rooms, plus the freesat, I actually bought an octo lnb but didn't want to confuse things on here, I'm now future proofed if I want sky+ or get a new pvr freesat, it's just a shame that 80% or more of TV isn't really worth watching :rotfl:There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0 -

More like 95%..;)0 -
Or (as far as I know) go for one of the other Alba group (bush, goodmans, grundig) HD freesat boxes with lnb in/out and you just need another sat coax cable (with f-connectors) and loop your lnb through the freesat box to the sky box. The Humax box has the best pic quality (on HD, apparently via SD it's awful), the best EPG and has manual tuning. The manual tuning will be added to the others as part of an update later on. I'm probably going to get a cheap Freesat box (Bush) just for Euro 2008, then upgrade it to a Humax PVR version (or better) when they eventually come out. As it stands, the big players like Sony, Panasonic etc. won't be making Freesat boxes until at least 6 months when the initial companies exclusive deal runs out.0

As Mark Benton would say "It doesn't work like that!"
Satellite receivers don't have LNB loop though!
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

As espresso states correctly, that will not work.0 -
