  • I too agree. BUT, the rate of change is what makes this graph interesting.

Most wanted/thought/predicted (at least publicly) of a "gradual" fall, or a "gradual slow down".

Maybe even going static? I know alot of people claimed "Its going to go static for several years"

    That would've shown this

Its the speed of the decline, rather than the amount.

it would be interesting if someone could extrapolate from the Graph thus far where the trend will end .. At this rate a drop of 30% does not seem unreasonable now

It's very geometric here in Bloomsbury - people live in squares, write in circles, and love in triangles.....

Pythagoras probably has a theory about that......

Seeing this I realise there will be a definite delay next month for the nationwide HPI figures, as their chief statistician will undoubtedly have to go out and buy a shiny new y-axis.
Question is, will he go for the bargain up to -10% axis, or try and avoid future purchases by biting the bullet and investing in a -20%er or even -30%er now? He might be able to save a few quid by cutting of at +12% at the top. I don't think that 14% is going to be needed for a good few years yet.
Or maybe, he may JUST be able to get away with this axis for another couple of months... A bit like those petrol stations that had a piece of paper with "1" written on it sellotaped to the price sign on the forecourt... after a few months it became clear prices weren't going back to double digits and they all invested in new wider signs....
    Decisions, decisions...
  • For those of you who find the same !!!!!! gets stale after a while, check this graph from the telegraph detailing the speed of the crash compared to the early 90's.

You might be able to ski the red line, but you'd definitely plummet off the blue one

I am concerned for the sexual wellbeing of some people on here!

You should see what a venn diagram does to me.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
