Do you think it's worth me trying for Abbey Zero tonight as well?

I made the app for an add. cardholder 2 weeks ago with Nationwide, I doubt it's arriving anytime soon.

Help! I'm worried if i don't apply soon 1) Abbey will be able to see my PO application and 2) The cards won't arrive in time! Should I give it a go?

Kavanne I applied for three cards and a bank account in one day and was accepted on them all. The credit checks are recorded in real time.

Call the PO, I found them to be really helpful. UK call centre.

Abbey also didn't give me an instant decision, any idea on the timeframes there? They did allow me to put additional cardholder details in though which might mean that will be the quickest one to go with (presuming they approve me :( )

PS When I phoned the PO part of their recorded message was 'If you have made a web application, please wait 5 days for written confirmation' so I chickened out!! Also, Abbey gave me a reference number but PO gave me nothing, should i be worried?

No, I had exactly the same experience as you. Applied on a Sunday, told I would hear in five days. Got the PIN on Tuesday, phoned them up to ask what my interest rate and limit was, and the card came on Friday. Out of the three I applied for they were the quickest, closely followed by Barclaycard.

I applied for a PO card recently, and to add an additional cardholder they have to post you out the form, and they want certified copies of 2 ID documents for the additional cardholder.

Form took at least 3 days to arrive, have to take ID documents to post office to certify them, get it posted back, get them to process it, and get the new card sent out.

Probably not the best option in your situation.

    Cheers, Des.

PS ( I havn't sent the form back yet so can't give you an exact timescale)

Post office no on credit scoring and tried to get hold of Nationwide again today they said they have a backlog at the moment and I should receive confirmation by the 20th, I said 'Oh so you can see the application there then?' and he said 'no'... What a numpty. I might start calling everyday.

Update, I phoned AGAIN this morning and NO cardholder has been added to my account. This is the 2nd call I've asked outright to speak to someone from complaints but the advisor just ignores me and says they will get someone from processing to call me!

Do nationwide even have a complaints department? My OH is going away on Tuesday and I doubt we are going to get the add. card before then even though I ordered it over a month ago.

They did call me back this time and just continually offered to send me out another application. I said I filled in the form IN BRANCH with an advisor and they said they would send it to card services. CLEARLY this was NEVER done.

All the 'customer services manager' would offer is to resend out the form. NO service at all. Crap. I think he thought I was lying or something!

Watch out if you try and get an additional card, it could take months!! As it is, my OH is going away on Weds and will just have to take all his money as cash, with no back up, I am very worried about him :(
