Feedback re: Nationwide BS, Yorkshire BS and Chelsea BS

Has anyone found any of the above Building Societies to be particularly good (for savings accounts) ?
From what I can see Nationwide, Yorkshire and the Chelsea seem three of the better players.
Any thoughts (good or bad) re: any of them would be appreciated.

From personal experience, I've found that Chelsea seem to introduce accounts, then close them and drop the rates (but then again many do this). Service is quite good though. Only experience I have with Nationwide for saving is a FRISA. They were a little slow on opening this, but again, most are. No experience of Yorkshire, sorry.0

The YBS have been pretty good for me. They have decent online facilities, and the rates are reasonably competitive, though, like any, need monitoring.Debbie0

I use all three and have never found a serious problem with any of them.
Of course they are not always aggressively competitive but, compared to the likes of Abbey and Halifax, using them is a joy.0 -

Why not add Skipton BS to the mix? I've found their service to be fantastic.0

I've found the telephone service from Chelsea, as with most building societies, to be very good.
Nationwide gets good reports and have just opened an account with them. Then spent over an hour in total on Thursday and Friday hanging on the phone to get through for a problem. When I eventually got through the information I was given was completely wrong. Got the impression they couldn't care less and would say whatever occurred to them to get rid of a caller and concentrate on their chewing gum. Hope this isn't the norm but no way would I ever use them for a proper current account on that experience.0 -
Thank you to everyone for your replies. I plan to open some fixed rates with each of them. Thanks again. :beer:0

Rates are Nationwide are quite good, not the best though. Look at a few comparison websites for details.
From my personal experience Nationwide has one of the worst admin systems I've ever come across. Indeed, look at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=11491011&posted=1#post114910110
