I am having the same problem but with a different item. I purchased an electric lawn rake from them just over a year ago with a three year warranty which has now broken. I have all the receipts etc. but Aldi will not help as they claim I have a three year manufacturers warranty so I have to sort it out with the manufacturer if I could ever get through to them on the telephone.0

Sorry to hear about that Waspforever it sounds an identical situation. Mine (in theory) should still be under guarantee - its the £39.99 Browntoa, which is a shame as we loved it and were making Espresso & Capaucino's every day.0

This is what confuses me, Aldi say it is not under guarantee but a manufactures warranty so I have to deal with the manufacturer. Wonder who the legal people would say is responsible.0 -
This should take you to the sale of goods act waspsforever

the confusion seems to be that the law doesn't specify what a 'reasonable' time is...it also says you dont have to complain to the manufacturer.0 -
Got a result. Found out the manufacturers e mail address and sent them details of my complaint and they have sent me a new lawn rake and do not request the old one is returned. So the lesson is that once the guarantee with Aldi runs out you have to deal with the manufacturer.0
