i'm thinking of buying the BOSE® WAVE® music system - DAB £499 from Bose but the DAB radio is not built into the system it comes as a seperate module which plugs into the system which is a bit off putting
so here's my thinking could i buy the BOSE® WAVE® music system £399 and just plug my personal DAB radio into the system and get the same result?
does anyone have one can they try this & tell me if it works
Thanks all

I'm my opinion, the Bose stuff is way overpriced for what it is.
To answer you question though, what inputs are on the Bose system, and what outputs are on your DAB radio?0 -

Hmmm... the best way to save cash as far as Bose is concerned is not to buy it. As mentioned above, it's overpriced. It's decent enough kit, but you can get better sounding equipment for less.
I'd take a good look at the Denon DM-35 personally.0 -
Bose - often said as Better Off Something Else, or Buy Something Else.
For £499 you could build an entry level separates system. Or even an all in one system.
Go to M H Smiths, pick up a copy of What Hi-fi and look in the back at the archive of reviews.
For £500 I think you could get something much better than a "wave" box on the table."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Why would anyone pay £500 for something that looks like an '80s clock radio? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Or 'No highs, no lows? It must be Bose'.
Bose equipment is reasonable quality mid-range, but very expensive for what it is. Somebody has to pay for all that advertising. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.

They do sound pretty good for their size, but I agree, your money could buy something much better.
There are some fantastic small systems and receivers out there, from companies such as Denon and TEAC and others, team these with some decent small monitor speakers (Mission, Mordaunt Short etc) with some decent speaker cable, and you'll have a great system, with better sound.
I'd read some magazines as per wolfman's advice!0 -
BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment0

Another vote here for Bose being ok quality but extremely overpriced for what you get.
It is lifestyle stuff rather than decent audio kit and you can get far better quality and value for money elsewhere..
I speak from experience as I bought a Bose clock radio many years ago. I took it on 30 days trial and, although I thought it was very expensive, in the end I didn’t bother returning it.
I wouldn’t touch Bose again for serious audio.0 -
If you want quality kit with a good name.. how about a small Denon system? Amazing value for £300

They're just amazing sound quality and constantly win awards.0
