O2 Network Problems?

This year, I have been experiencing an increase in the number of dropped calls on the O2 network. Sometimes the calls will just end on both sides, but on other occassions the call will still stay connected on both sides but no voice is heard on either side. This leads me to believe there is a problem at O2's end as the calls in question are also from landlines.

Sometimes, I also get very poor (robotic) sound quality and have to end the call and re-dial to get good quality. I have been using O2 for more than 5 years and have never experienced so much network issues. Friend of mine (on T-Mobile) has also said that sometimes my phone does not receive his text messages staright away (as he gets delivery reports).

Is anyone else having similar problems. I am using a SonyEricsson K800i with 3G turned off. I don't think it is the phone. Yesterday I rang O2 and they said there were no network issues in my area and thought that it maybe a faulty sim card and so sent me a new one. I am very sceptical about the sim card being faulty so haven't yet activated it.

Please post here if you are also having problems!

Some nights I (on O2) ring my girlfriend (also on O2) and the line will drop repeatedly. We originally had put this down to not-so-good signal at her house and the weather then messing it up completely.

Some nights it is ok, others it is not and, while the weather is generally bad when the line drops repeatedly, this is not always the case and we still don't really know which end has the connection problem when the line drops and, as she just got a new phone, things might improve.

And if you want to have delivery reports on your O2 phone, use *0# at the beginning of the message (O2 removes it so the recipient doesn't see it, but you'll get the delivery report), although I haven't had a problem with texts for two years.
